Residential Security and Surveillance

Gate CameraThe thought that a home could turn out looking like a military compound gives some people pause when considering a security and surveillance system. However, it is our belief that the aesthetics of a home is just as important as its security.

What does a security and surveillance system look like?
You will see smoke detectors, heat detectors, carbon monoxide and glass break sensors as required by building codes. This is the case with every security system installed anywhere. On the surveillance side, we take every step necessary to conceal the cameras from plain sight. A number of camera options are available in all shapes and sizes that can provide the coverage you need with the look you desire.

How do I control my security system?
Currently, for all in-home control systems, we use our security pages as a means for feedback, not control. We give you a quick, snapshot view of your entire home and the status of each security device, but do not provide a way to arm and disarm, except from the actual security panel. We do this because of the potential for mistakenly arming the home while others are still present—causing the system to trigger. HomeSuite, the DES iPad app, provides arming and disarming functionality.Lighting Control via DESTV

How do I control my surveillance system?
Any control device capable of displaying video will display the current, real-time camera feed. If the camera has pan, tilt or zoom functionality, we provide buttons for you to change the camera’s view. If you have a digital video recorder (DVR) in your system, it is like a standard video source in your video distribution network. Depending on the configuration, you can view the recorded feeds on your television or touchpanels.
